My favorite singers

OK, I would like to come up with a list of the singers I really love. Since I cannot come up with every one of them at once, this will be a post to be edited again and again.

Nick Cave.
All time favorite, his voice is deep and dark, and the lyrics are exceptional.Favorite album: the boatman's call. Favorite song: People ain't no good. The song that lighted up and darkened my college years...The 'murder ballads' also have some good singles, and more creepy and theatrical. My favorite one is 'Henry Lee' and 'Where the wild roses grow', really creepy, and deadly beautiful.

Nirvana

Alanis Morissette

Cranberry

Gun and Roses

Read to go to Woodshole

Ha, finally we are on the verge of taking several days off. As much as I enjoy my current work( it is pretty awesome), we can certainly take several days boating, swimming and visiting friends:) Happy~~~

DC places I would like to go

After renewing the library books for several times, finally today is the due date. So great, now I have to return the Fodor's travel book which I have been flipping through these days. To remember what the places we might want to check out later in DC after I return this book, let me just jog the names down here.

Restaurants (Oh, I am such a foodie)
Le Refuge:
nice French restaurent, quite expensive , local favorite

La Chaumiere
Seems to be very authentic French, liver, brain, duck confit(legs), hmmm...

Ben's Chilli Bowl
Legendary eatery, many famous people including Obama visited here. Ben died last year, but the place is still open, should check it out.

Black salt
Good and fresh seafood, expensive

old Europe restaurant
Authentic German food, do I like German food? And what is German food anyway? I don't know. Time to try it out! Beer and Sauerkraut, yeah!

Amsterdam Falafel Shop
Great place to grab a bite probably

Places to visit
Eastern Market
Man, this sounds really good. I like the idea of fresh poultry, fish and flower stand. And they have a flea market with antiques on weekends...time to get some eclectic decor for our basement. It has a history of 134 years.

Airlington Cemetery
I don't know, I have never really visited a cemetery, except for the one my grandfather was buried, but that is really small with a lot of tomb stones tightly packed together. Maybe this one is different. I wonder if it will be interesting.

National museam of the marine corps
They have tanks on display, so I heard.

Oh, since I have a moment now, I might as well write down some of our favorite restaurants so far in the area.

Gamasot, top notch Korean soup place, every one is Korean, chef, waitress, customer. Very reasonably priced.10 dollars per person, but the portion is so big, I usually pack half as leftover.

A little place right next to Gamasot is El Racho, a Peruian place, like fastfood because no one pays tips and the price is cheap. But gosh, their fried fish and shrimp plate are so good, again, most of the customers are Spanish speaking people.

Clyde's at Mark Center
Our favorite favorite American restaurant, lobster(if in season), crab cake, lemon soil, Filet Mignon, everything you try is superb and very carefully prepared. The portion is just perfect and the price is really reasonable. We have been there at least 8 times. Bravo!
